Velocity pressure
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009969
The dynamic pressure exerted by a moving fluid, representing the kinetic energy per unit volume. It is calculated as one-half the fluid density multiplied by the square of its velocity. In meteorology, velocity pressure is a factor in determining wind loads on buildings and other structures, and it is measured in units of Pascals or pounds per square foot.
