Earthlight

The illumination of the unlit portion of the Moon by sunlight reflected from the Earth. This phenomenon is most visible during a thin crescent phase of the Moon, making the entire lunar disk faintly visible. It is also known as ashen light or the 'old moon in the new moon's arms'.
