Lunar rainbow

A meteorological phenomenon that forms when moonlight is refracted and reflected by water droplets in the atmosphere. It is similar to a solar rainbow but appears much fainter due to the lower intensity of moonlight. These atmospheric optical displays are best observed during a full moon in a dark sky.
