Primary rainbow

A single arc of colored light formed by the refraction and internal reflection of sunlight within raindrops. It displays colors with red on the outside and violet on the inside, resulting from one internal reflection within each water droplet. This optical phenomenon is visible when the sun is behind the observer and rain is in front.
