Endorheic lake

A lake that retains water and does not have an outflow to the sea or an ocean, meaning its drainage basin is closed. Water leaves these lakes primarily through evaporation, leading to the accumulation of dissolved salts and often resulting in saline or hypersaline conditions. The Great Salt Lake in Utah is a prominent example.
