Ephemeral stream

A watercourse that flows only in direct response to precipitation, receiving no water from groundwater sources. These streams are common in arid and semi-arid environments, carrying water for brief periods after rainfall events. Their channels are typically dry for most of the year, distinguishing them from intermittent or perennial streams.
