Eyewall

A ring of intense thunderstorms and strong winds immediately surrounding the eye of a mature tropical cyclone. This region contains the strongest winds, heaviest rainfall, and most vigorous convection within the storm. The eyewall is where the most destructive weather conditions associated with a hurricane are experienced.
