Flurry
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010509
A light, brief shower of snow characterized by intermittent and scattered flakes with little to no accumulation on the ground. Flurries are associated with weak upward motion in the atmosphere and are common in cold, unstable air masses. Unlike a snow shower, a flurry is very light and its duration is short, with periods of sunshine possible between events.
Snow flurries are an intermittent light snowfall of short duration (generally light snow showers) with no measurable accumulation (trace category).
