Funneling
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005856
The process where air or wind is channeled through a constricted area, such as a mountain pass or valley, leading to an increase in its speed. This effect occurs due to the conservation of mass, as the same volume of air must pass through a smaller cross-sectional area. It often results in localized areas of stronger winds.
