Gorge wind
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006011
A localized wind that is channeled and intensified as it flows through a narrow valley or gorge. The topography constricts the airflow, leading to an increase in wind speed due to the Venturi effect. These winds can be significantly stronger than the surrounding ambient winds and are common in mountainous regions.
