Gosling blast

A sudden, strong gust of wind that occurs during the passage of a cold front or squall line, characterized by its brief duration and high intensity. These blasts are caused by the downdraft of cold air from a thunderstorm, which spreads out horizontally upon reaching the ground. They can cause localized damage and are a hazard to small aircraft and marine vessels.
