Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006008

A sudden, strong gust of wind that descends from mountainous terrain into a valley or coastal area. This localized wind event is often associated with cold air drainage or katabatic flow, where dense, cold air flows downhill under gravity. Golfadas can cause rapid temperature drops and pose hazards to aviation and maritime activities in affected regions.
