The scientific study of glaciers, ice sheets, and all natural phenomena involving ice, including their formation, movement, physical properties, and effects on the environment. This interdisciplinary field draws upon aspects of geology, geophysics, hydrology, and meteorology. Glaciologists investigate topics ranging from ice core analysis to glacier-climate interactions.
