Inventories of anthropogenic pollutants

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006629

Systematic compilations of the amounts of pollutants emitted into the atmosphere from human activities over a specific geographic area and time period. These datasets categorize emissions by source type, such as industrial processes, transportation, and agriculture, and by specific chemical compound. The data are typically expressed in units of mass per unit time, for example, tonnes per year, and are used as inputs for air quality models.
