A southerly wind that blows up Lake Maggiore in northern Italy during the afternoon, as the warmed plain draws air toward the Alps. It is the daytime valley-wind half of a daily cycle whose other half is the Tramontana, a northerly wind that descends the lake in the morning. The cycle is regular enough that sailors and kitesurfers on the lake plan around it.
