Jimsphere

A large, superpressure balloon used to measure atmospheric winds at high altitudes. This balloon is designed to maintain a constant volume and ascend at a controlled rate, carrying a small radar reflective target. Radar tracking of the jimsphere provides detailed wind profiles up to altitudes of 60 kilometers.
