K changes
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006754
Variations in the value of the K-index, a measure used to forecast the potential for air-mass thunderstorms. The index integrates the vertical temperature lapse rate, the moisture content in the lower atmosphere, and the vertical extent of the moist layer. K-index values greater than 25 indicate a moderate potential for thunderstorms, with values exceeding 40 suggesting a very high likelihood.
