Low Rate Information Transmission

A data broadcast service provided by geostationary meteorological satellites, such as GOES, that transmits meteorological data and imagery at a relatively slow rate. This service allows ground stations with simpler receiving equipment to access real-time weather information. It is commonly used by remote users and educational institutions for weather monitoring.
