High Resolution Picture Transmission

A direct broadcast system used by weather satellites to transmit high-resolution visible and infrared imagery and other meteorological data to ground stations. This system allows users with appropriate receiving equipment to obtain real-time satellite imagery for local weather forecasting and analysis. High Resolution Picture Transmission (HRPT) provides detailed views of cloud patterns, storm systems, and surface features.
