GOES Variable

A specific geophysical or atmospheric parameter derived from measurements taken by the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES) system. These data products provide continuous monitoring of environmental conditions across a large portion of the Earth's surface from a fixed orbital position. Examples of GOES variables include cloud top temperature, sea surface temperature, atmospheric motion vectors, and total precipitable water.
