GOES High-Resolution Interferometer Sounder

An advanced instrument designed for future Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellites to provide highly detailed vertical profiles of atmospheric temperature and moisture. It uses interferometry to measure infrared radiation emitted by the Earth and atmosphere, allowing for improved understanding of atmospheric dynamics. This instrument offers significantly higher spectral resolution than previous sounders.
