Lower atmosphere

The portion of the Earth's atmosphere extending from the surface up to approximately 10 to 20 kilometers, encompassing the troposphere and the lower stratosphere. This region contains the vast majority of atmospheric mass and water vapor, where most weather phenomena occur. Its dynamics are primarily driven by solar heating and the Earth's rotation.
