Ozonosphere
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007777
The atmospheric layer where the concentration of ozone (O3) is greatest, roughly corresponding to the stratosphere. Extending from about 15 to 50 kilometers in altitude, this region contains the ozone layer, which absorbs a large portion of the sun's harmful ultraviolet radiation. Peak ozone concentrations within the ozonosphere are found at an altitude of approximately 25 kilometers, where they can reach up to 10 parts per million.
