Minimum temperature

  1. The lowest temperature recorded over a specific period, such as a day, month, or year. It is measured by a minimum thermometer, which registers the lowest point reached since its last reset. This value is a component of daily weather reports and climatological summaries, used to track temperature trends, frost potential, and energy demand.

  2. This is the lowest temperature recorded during a specified period of time. The time period can be 6, 12 or 24 hours. The most common reference is to the daily minimum temperature, or "low."
