Monsoon surge

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007406

A strengthening of the monsoon circulation, characterized by an increase in wind speed and enhanced precipitation, particularly over coastal regions. This intensification results from the interaction of large-scale atmospheric patterns with regional topography. Monsoon surges can lead to widespread heavy rainfall and flooding, especially when coupled with tropical disturbances.
