Obscuring phenomenon

Any atmospheric condition that reduces visibility by scattering or absorbing light, but is not a form of precipitation. These phenomena include fog, mist, haze, smoke, dust, and sand, which are composed of tiny particles or water droplets suspended in the air. They are often reported in aviation weather observations to indicate reduced visual range.
