Opposition

An astronomical configuration where two celestial bodies, typically a superior planet and the Sun, are on opposite sides of the Earth. From Earth's perspective, the planet appears brightest and largest during opposition, as it is closest to Earth and fully illuminated by the Sun. This alignment is particularly favorable for planetary observation.
