Planetary albedo
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007967
The fraction of incident solar radiation that is reflected back into space by an entire planet. This value is a measure of the planet's overall reflectivity, influenced by factors such as clouds, ice, snow, land surfaces, and atmospheric aerosols. Earth's planetary albedo is approximately 0.3, meaning about 30% of incoming sunlight is reflected.
