Net solar radiation

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007515

The difference between the amount of solar radiation absorbed by a surface and the amount reflected back into space. It represents the portion of incoming shortwave radiation that contributes to heating the surface and driving other energy exchange processes. This value is a key component of the surface energy budget, influencing temperature and evaporation rates.
