Surface radiation budget

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009443

The net balance of all incoming and outgoing radiative energy fluxes at the Earth's surface, including shortwave (solar) and longwave (terrestrial) radiation. This budget determines the amount of energy available for other surface processes, such as evaporation and sensible heat transfer. It is a key component of the Earth's overall energy balance and influences surface temperature.
