Atmospheric radiation budget
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003682
The balance between incoming solar radiation absorbed by the Earth-atmosphere system and outgoing terrestrial radiation emitted back to space. This budget determines the planet's overall temperature and climate. Imbalances in this budget, often due to changes in greenhouse gas concentrations, can lead to global warming or cooling.
