Downward terrestrial radiation

The longwave radiation emitted by the Earth's surface and atmosphere that is directed back towards the surface. This energy transfer is a component of the Earth's energy budget, contributing to the warming of the lower atmosphere. It is measured in watts per square meter (W/m²).
