Balance meter
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003785
An instrument designed to measure the net difference between incoming and outgoing energy fluxes at a surface. It integrates separate sensors for shortwave (solar) and longwave (terrestrial) radiation to determine the net radiation balance, a key component of the surface energy budget. Measurements are expressed in watts per square meter (W/m²).
