Total radiation

The sum of solar radiation and terrestrial radiation. The two parts differ in wavelength, with solar radiation arriving mostly at short wavelengths and terrestrial radiation emitted by the Earth and atmosphere at long wavelengths. A related quantity, upward total radiation, is the solar and terrestrial radiation directed upward, back toward space.
