Total reactive nitrogen

The sum of all nitrogen-containing compounds in the atmosphere that are chemically active and can participate in atmospheric reactions. This includes species such as nitrogen oxides (NOx), nitric acid (HNO3), and peroxyacetyl nitrate (PAN). These compounds are involved in ozone formation and acid deposition, influencing air quality and climate.
