Diffuse reflector
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005005
A surface that scatters incident radiation in many directions, rather than reflecting it specularly in a single direction. In atmospheric science, clouds and many land surfaces act as diffuse reflectors for solar radiation, scattering light broadly. This scattering contributes to the overall albedo of the Earth system.
