Diffuse solar radiation
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005007
The portion of solar radiation that reaches the Earth's surface after being scattered by atmospheric constituents like air molecules, aerosols, and clouds. Unlike direct solar radiation, it does not arrive from a single direction but from the entire sky dome. This scattered light is responsible for the overall brightness of the sky and contributes to the total solar energy received.
