Specular reflector

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009122

A surface that reflects incident radiation in a single, well-defined direction, where the angle of reflection equals the angle of incidence. Such surfaces are typically very smooth and polished, acting like a mirror. In atmospheric science, calm water bodies can act as specular reflectors for solar radiation, leading to phenomena like sun glint observed from satellites.
