Angle of incidence
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003506
The angle between the direction of an incoming ray or wave and the normal (a line perpendicular) to the surface it strikes. In atmospheric optics, this angle determines how light interacts with atmospheric particles, water droplets, or the Earth's surface. For solar radiation, it influences the amount of energy absorbed by a surface.
