Scatter angle

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008684

The angle between the direction of an incident electromagnetic wave and the direction of the scattered wave. This angle is a fundamental parameter in describing how radiation interacts with particles in the atmosphere, such as aerosols and cloud droplets. It ranges from 0 degrees for forward scattering to 180 degrees for backscattering.
