Angle of incidence

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-000202

The angle between an incident ray of light (or other wave) and the normal to the surface it strikes. The normal is an imaginary line perpendicular to the surface at the point of incidence. This angle is used in Snell's Law and the Law of Reflection to determine the path of light after interacting with a boundary.
