Critical angle
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-001438
The angle of incidence in an optically denser medium beyond which light undergoes total internal reflection when attempting to pass into a less dense medium. At this specific angle, the angle of refraction is 90 degrees, meaning the refracted light travels along the interface. The critical angle depends on the refractive indices of the two media involved.
