Critical angle
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002677
The specific angle of incidence above which a ray of light traveling through a denser medium to a less dense medium is totally internally reflected. When the angle of incidence equals the critical angle, the refracted ray travels along the boundary between the two media at an angle of 90 degrees to the normal. This angle is a function of the refractive indices of the two media, as described by Snell's law.
