Normal incidence
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013341
The orientation of propagating electromagnetic radiation that strikes a surface at a right angle. In this configuration, the direction of the radiation is perpendicular to the plane of the surface at the point of impact. The angle of incidence, which is measured between the incoming ray and the line normal (perpendicular) to the surface, is defined as zero degrees for normal incidence.
