p-polarization

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009340

A state of polarization for electromagnetic radiation where the electric field vector lies in the plane of incidence, which is defined by the incident and reflected or refracted rays and the surface normal. This is also known as parallel polarization. It is distinct from s-polarization, where the electric field is perpendicular to the plane of incidence.
