Critical body residue
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002678
The concentration of a toxic substance in the tissues of an organism that results in a specified adverse effect, such as mortality or impaired reproduction. This metric is used in ecotoxicology to assess the internal dose of a contaminant that causes harm, providing a more direct measure of toxicity than external exposure concentrations. Critical body residues are often expressed in units of moles or micrograms per gram of tissue.
