Fresnel reflection
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005787
The reflection of electromagnetic radiation that occurs at the interface between two media with different refractive indices. In atmospheric optics, this phenomenon explains the partial reflection of light from water surfaces or ice crystals. The amount of reflection depends on the angle of incidence and the polarization of the light.
