Fresnel zone
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005788
An elliptical region around the line of sight between a transmitter and a receiver, where electromagnetic waves propagate. Obstructions within this zone can cause signal attenuation or phase shifts due to diffraction, impacting the quality of radar or radio transmissions. The size of the Fresnel zone depends on the wavelength of the signal and the distance between the transmitter and receiver.
