Reflection coefficient
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008474
A dimensionless quantity that describes the amplitude or power ratio of a reflected wave to an incident wave at an interface between two media. In meteorology, it quantifies the proportion of electromagnetic radiation, such as radar signals or sunlight, that is reflected by a target or surface. For radar, it relates to the intensity of the returned signal from precipitation particles.
