Bidirectional reflection function
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010402
A mathematical function that describes how light is reflected from an opaque surface, accounting for the incident and reflected directions. It quantifies the ratio of reflected radiance in a specific direction to the incident irradiance from another direction. This function is used in remote sensing and atmospheric radiative transfer models to characterize surface properties.
